Reports Setup — choose what your reports consider
Decide which document types feed your financial reports — org-wide and per account — including bringing estimates into the picture.
By default your financial reports — Trial Balance, Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, Account Ledger, the day/cash/bank books, and aging — consider sales, purchases, and every voucher type, while estimates stay out. Administration → Setup → Reports puts that choice in your hands: include estimates, set aside a document type, or override the rule for a single account.
How it works
- Turn the master switch on, then adjust the document types below it. Until something actually changes, your reports stay exactly as they were.
- Documents in your reports lists everything considered today — Sale, Purchase, and each voucher type. Mark one Excluded and its documents leave the financial reports entirely; the reports still balance, because a document always leaves as a whole.
- Estimates are opt-in. Included estimates appear under their own Sale Estimates / Purchase Estimates lines — never mixed into your Sales or Purchase totals — and they count toward party balances and aging, like a challan the party still owes.
- Per-account overrides fine-tune the rule for Sale, Purchase, and the two estimate types for a chosen party — include estimates for one customer only, or keep one account's documents out of view.
What never changes
- Your GST returns and tax worksheets always read the complete books — nothing on this page can touch a filed figure.
- Bank Reconciliation keeps showing every real bank entry; it is a truth-checking tool, not a presentation.
- The document registers stay complete — a register answers "what exists", a report answers "what do my books show".
- Statements you share with a connected business always reflect the full books, so both sides see the same numbers.
Estimates stay until you remove them
An included estimate remains in your reports until the estimate itself is deleted or adjusted — billing the goods later creates a Sale but does not retire the estimate. Review open estimates now and then, or scope estimate inclusion to specific accounts.
A view, never an edit
This page never edits, posts, or deletes a voucher. It only changes which documents your reports read — switch everything back and your reports return to stock behaviour, to the paisa.
